Spend A Day With Us In Antibes

Antibes is a special city along the French Riviera celebrated for its artistic and literary history, large marina, hilltop villas and its old walled town overlooking the Mediterranean. Making our way through the cobbled streets, we discovered endless gem spots kept in this tucked away town. We hope you enjoy exploring the stops we made during our extraordinary day in Antibes.

Old Town Antibes

Old Town Antibes is a lively small town by the sea. Its rustic yet romantic charm is ignited through colorful shops, corner cafes, and historical spaces. We roamed around the town’s cobblestone alleys, street vendors, and hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Surrounded by artistic influences and old homes we felt transported back in time when we arrived.

We suggest grabbing a baguette sandwich from one of the local bakeries and a scoop of gelato from Amarena as you discover the magic of Old Town.

Picasso Museum

Located on the outskirts of Old Town set against the sea, the Picasso Museum is a reimagined chateau showcasing a collection of Picasso’s works spanning the time that he lived and painted in Antibes. We browsed the museum’s three levels of ceramics, painting and sculpture which also included modern artists’ work that complimented Picasso’s style.

More beauty is found outside the walls of the ancient castle on its scenic terrace. This section is home to a permanent collection of remarkable sculptures by Germaine Richier looking out over the Mediterranean.

Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc

For over 150 years, Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc has served as a glamorous backdrop for high society guests from titans of literature to Hollywood A-listers. Artists including Chagall, Picasso and Matisse have stayed here along with famous musicians such as John & Yoko and Ella Fitzgerald.

Arriving at this exclusive venue was like stepping into a signature Slim Aaron’s photograph. Driving up a narrow road from the coast, we reached the entrance of the hotel and were welcomed through the gates. We rode through a cypress tree tunnel that opened up to a private, luxurious world away from the bustling streets below.

Walking into the Eden-Roc Restaurant, we were immersed in a French Riviera fairytale reminiscent of 20th century ritz. We sat for lunch, breathing in the view of the sparkling Mediterranean decorated with charming yachts, and small diving docks.

The menu’s offerings are cultivated from seasonal ingredients including locally caught fish, fresh vegetable plates, and homemade desserts. We enjoyed their yellowtail sashimi, the hotel’s signature salad and a petite chocolate mousse cake. From its friendly staff to its breathtaking location, Hotel Du Cap is what Riviera dreams are made of.

"Deferential palms cool its flushed facade, and before it stretches a short dazzling beach. Lately it has become a summer resort of notable and fashionable people.." -F. Scott Fitzgerald

Plage de Ondes

Waving farewell to Eden-Roc and traveling back down the winding streets, we stumbled upon Plage de Ondes.

Made up of two tiny coves this beach caught our eye with a medieval watch tower rising from the shallow water and other human-made rock formations fixated in the swimming areas. These features gave the beach an authentic look like no other in Antibes.

Swimming further out towards the passing sailboats and paddle boarders, we discovered a beautiful bright green kelp fields housing schools of fish. We snorkeled around in the warm water finding more sea treasures. Plage de Ondes seemed as a hideaway tucked away from tourists, making it the perfect last stop in Antibes.
