Gucci commissioned Martin Parr, a contemporary British photographer, to capture the brand’s 2018 cruise collection in Cannes, France. Designed by creative director, Alessandro Michele, the collection’s dazzling pieces come to life against a seashore backdrop. The book’s concept was inspired by the music video for New Order’s 1993 hit single World (The Price of Love), filmed in Cannes with glamorous shots from the sea to the famed Carlton Hotel. The video’s visuals coincide directly with Parr’s immersive imagery. Parr captures everything from beach loungers wearing oversized studded sunglasses to models dressed in vibrant florals, casually roaming the Carlton Hotel grounds.
