Spend A weekend with us in nyc

Crisp mornings, cozy bookstores, fall style, and changing colors in Central Park, make New York City so special during this time of year, we couldn’t miss out. Spending a weekend exploring our favorite cafes, museums and shops in Manhattan felt like a quintessential East Coast Autumn. We hope you enjoy discovering each of these treasured spots in a timeless city.

Mondrian Hotel

The Mondrian Hotel has proved itself as a satisfying stay with each of our NYC visits, so we thought this trip should be no different. Located conveniently in Manhattan’s bustling NoMad neighborhood on Park Ave, the hotel is just blocks from the Empire State Building and a leisurely walk away from East Village & Soho.

A true NYC emblem, the Mondrian provides an authentic city stay celebrating contemporary culture, a sophisticated nightlife, and a hint of exclusivity. Each guest room was crafted by internationally acclaimed designer Philippe Starck, evoking modern taste with abstract paintings, gold accents and comfortable amenities.

Our favorite surprise was the swanky rooftop terrace, featuring views of the downtown skyline and a creative cocktail menu to pick and choose from afternoon into night.

Mcnally Jackson

Always on the hunt for a bookstore to escape into, we popped into Mcnally Jackson located in the Nolita neighborhood. sifting through bestselling novels, latest issues, and classic titles we were able to find every book we were looking for here.

This independent book store was opened in 2004 by Sarah Mcnally, a former editor at Basic Books and the child of Holly and Paul McNally, the founders of the Canadian McNally Robinson Booksellers chain. With the Nolita location being its first, four more stores have opened up across the NYC metro area, with one more opening up in Rockefeller Center this winter!

Sant ambroeus

An iconic restaurant & cafe, Sant Ambroeus upholds its Italian roots by embracing long and leisurely dining, where chatting for hours over drinks, dinner and dessert is the norm.

While shopping in Soho we stopped in the cafe and took our sweet time sampling gelato and pastries and savoring every sip of our midday coffees. With a warm and inviting atmosphere it's easy to lose track of the day here, but with the restaurant's multiple locations across the city it’s even easier to find your way back.

STRAND BOOK Store

A reader’s paradise, Strand carries over 2.5 million used, new, and rare books, across their four NYC stores. This iconic literary emporium was born in 1927 over on Fourth Avenue on what was then called “Book Row.” Book Row covered six city blocks and housed forty-eight bookstores.

Now, lining the shop’s sidewalk are their famous “dollar carts” where you can find rows of bookshelves stacked with endless cheap paperbacks. Slowing making our way inside their main location on Broadway, we browsed dozens of books covering topics as far-ranging as philosophy to fashion.

Central Park

With peak foliage still a few weeks away in the city, we caught the first glimpses of the changing season while strolling around Central Park on Sunday morning.

The city’s quiet sanctuary: the park gave us a peaceful start to our day, sometimes impossible to find amidst the chaos of Manhattan. Walking along the pond’s edge, through tree tunnel paths, and over stone bridges, we were able to fully enjoy the beautiful start of a crisp fall day.

Iconic Magazine

What seems like another corner convenience store in the city, Iconic Magazines is much more than that as it houses an extensive selection of magazines. from hard-to-find to out-of-print issues. The store, located in Lower Manhattan, is a must-visit for collectors to score rare copies of favorite publications.

Bergdorf goodman

A Fifth Ave Flagship, Bergdorf Goodman is seven floors of fashion heaven and the mecca of style and modern luxury. Of course we stopped the elevator at every floor, stepping into a beautifully curated world of designer collections again and again. Mesmerized by rare finds, new runway looks and creative interior pieces, we were lost in the holy grail of department stores for some time. Finally, we reached the 7th floor to enjoy a cocktail at BG restaurant. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, the cafe flows seamlessly with the grand allure known to the rest of the building while providing picturesque views of Central Park.

Museum of Modern Art (MOMA)

For us, a NYC trip is not complete without visiting MOMA to fuel our creativity while exploring new exhibits and our revisited favorite works. We stumbled upon signature Pollack pieces, creative collage art and stunning photography during our afternoon at the Midtown museum. We left leaving inspired with new ideas and concepts to enhance the Maison Plage brand.
